Chiropractic Care
The central nervous system is the body’s command center. It controls and coordinates every system in the body. When a spinal imbalance or movement issues occur, it’s like standing on a nerve. Pressure interrupts the flow of information from brain to body, causing pain and muscle weakness, and affecting mood, brain function, and organ function.
Chiropractic is health care without drugs or surgery. Our job at Better Life Chiropractic is to heal the body naturally by taking pressure off the nerves and spine. Using manual techniques and other therapies, we’ll correct the imbalances and allow the body to function as it was designed to.
Our Tools and Techniques
Chiropractic adjustments are designed to make you comfortable and feel great. Most patients tell us “that was just right,” but we can alter our methods of care to provide more gentle or aggressive adjustments, as needed.
Some techniques and therapies we use include:
- Traditional Activator® Methods: This is a system of spinal evaluation combined with a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust. We use this method on about 40% of our patients. Read more about Activator Methods »
- Active Release Technique®: Athletic injuries and many muscle-related conditions respond quickly and permanently with this state-of-the-art soft tissue technique. Read more about Active Release Technique »
- Traditional Hands-on Technique: After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints.
- Spinal Decompression Therapy: A form of traction, on a special table, spinal decompression involves intermittent traction and release to relieve pressure on the disc, allowing it to move back into position. It also increases the spacing between discs, improving blood circulation and delivering nutrients to speed healing.
- Drop-table Technique: This system of analysis uses a special table with moveable parts that reduces the amount of energy needed to adjust your spine. Read more about Drop-table Technique »
- Fascial Distortion Method: The Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) manipulates fascia to help the body function better and decrease pain syndromes.
